One man is bent on discovering the Reapers’ secrets, the mysterious Illusive Man, the leader of a pro-human, black ops group, Cerberus. And he’s devised the perfect plan: implant a human subject with Reaper technology in order to study the enemy.

He also has the perfect test subject—Paul Grayson, an ex-Cerberus operative. Grayson betrayed Cerberus in order to save his daughter. So when Grayson is kidnapped and made the subject of Cerberus’ evil experiments, the Illusive Man will finally have his revenge…

January 14th, 2010 Jarralz No comments

knightsinthenightmare

Looks like Japan’s getting Knights in the Nightmare on PSP in April, according to RPGsite.

Originally released for DS in 2008, the RPG-shooter mix was released by Atlus for the West last year.

According to the report, the title will feature all-new controls, an opening anime movie and an cataloge of in-game dialogue for players to browse through.

Slated for April 22, a release outside of Japan has yet to be announced, but we will contact Atlus to see if it plans on publishing it for the Western market.

PixelJunk studio’s 3D Space Tank outed by Australia’s OFLC

January 14th, 2010 Jarralz No comments

pixeljunkeden2

Q-Games’ latest title has been outed by Australia’s OFLC, and apparently, it’s called 3D Space Tank.

Given a G by the ratings body, the game’s set to be released on for Nintendo although no platforms were mentioned in the filing – which was dug up by Siliconera.

The studio has been working on DSiWare games for Wii, but details on the title are scare at best at the moment.

Previous DSiWare title from the firm include Art Style: Digidrive, Starship Patrol, and Trajectile.

We’ll drop Nintendo a line and see if anyone bites.

BioWare reveals solider class for Mass Effect 2

January 14th, 2010 Jarralz No comments

masseffect2

BioWare has released bits and pieces of information pertaining to the solider class in Mass Effect 2 for a while now, but today is the first time a “complete picture” has been painted for the fighter.

According to lead combat designer Christina Norman, the Solider is a “weapons master” and will be packing around an exclusive light machinegun.

“In ME1 mastering weapons and armor required leveling up and spending points”, Norman told IGN. “It was impossible for a soldier to fully master all of his weapons and armor, because you never had enough points.

“In Mass Effect 2 you start the game with full mastery of all your weapons. With our dramatically improved weapon and cover, you’ll find playing a soldier feels like playing a shooter right from the start.

“He carries more weapons, and better weapons, than any other class. He has access to all three special ammo types, so he can customize his guns to take down any enemy. A properly played soldier out damages any other class in the game.

“The soldier is also our toughest character, with more health than any other class and the soldier has less active powers than other classes, but the two he has are really good and well suited to real-time play. Concussive shot fires a blast that quickly takes down a single target. Adrenaline rush boosts the soldier’s speed, reflexes, and weapon damage dramatically increasing his offense. It’s also a great defensive ability for getting safely to cover.

“The light machinegun, is also a soldier exclusive weapon. It’s my favorite weapon in the game, and if you want it, you have to be a soldier.”

The game’s out in just a few shakes this month, and a video of the solider in action can be found through here.

CVG has ‘em. You should go have a look.

OnLive is due for launch during the first quarter of this year, with its competitor Gaikai expected this year as well.

Earlier today, it was reported that Microsoft would be “in the mix and active participants” in the streaming movement, as Xbox 360 is capable of such feats with just an update.

Reggie says “no Wii update or new system” in the coming months

January 14th, 2010 Jarralz No comments

reggie4

NOA president Reggie Fils-Aime has said that consumers should not expect an update to Wii, nor a new system from Nintendo in the coming months.

“We are confident the Wii home entertainment console has a very long life in front of it,” he told BusinessWeek. Preempting the suggestion that an announcement would be made regarding hardware during GDC in March, but would not elaborate on any impending E3 announcement in June.

Nintendo has faith that upcoming franchise releases for Metroid Prime and Super Mario will reinvigorate the the console, not to mention the confirmation of Netflix for Wii – which like PS3 will require a streaming disc.

Analysts have speculated for months that Nintendo’s to update to the Wii to at least release a Wii HD.
