Dark Void has been Pushed back to 2010, giving more room to add more features..

“The main reason we delayed Dark Void was because we really wanted to spend the extra time we needed to re-polish it and add a new feature,” Said Dark Void associate producer Shana T.Bryant . The new feature is hovering: by hitting the jump button twice, you can now hover in place, rising higher by continuing to hold the jump button. In happy news for people who want to play Dark Void without going insane with frustration, the damage model has also been tweaked such that wall collisions don’t result in instant death.

Press Release after the Break:

SAN MATEO, Calif. — May 19, 2009 — Capcom® Entertainment, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, has shipped Bionic Commando® for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. Bionic Commando is rated M for Mature by the Entertainment Software Ratings Board and carries a suggested retail price of $59.99.

Taking its inspiration from its 8-bit namesake — released on the Nintendo Entertainment System back in 1988 — Bionic Commando features Nathan Spencer (voiced by Mike Patton, lead singer of Faith No More and Mr. Bungle), a shining example of the technological advances made by the Federal Bionic Armaments Development Division. An expertly trained operative, Spencer is able to target and take out enemies while hanging upside down, climbing a building or even in mid-swing. At close quarters, the bionic arm packs a mean punch, while from a distance; objects such as boulders and cars can be grabbed and launched at enemies.

Bionic Commando harnesses the power of the latest generation of hardware to fully exploit the incredible swing gameplay that made the original title so unique. The ruins of Ascension City and its surroundings provide an engaging environment of towering buildings, suspended roadways and monorails, deep canyons and sheer rock faces that allow gamers to traverse each area via multiple routes using swinging, rappelling, climbing and wall-walking techniques, forcing players to think in three dimensions.

Players will also be able to take their swinging skills from single-player mode and challenge their friends online in a fierce 8-player multi-player game that will be available when the game ships on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE. Players will need to utilize all the skills honed in single player such as Zip Kick, Death from Above and Adrenaline attacks to show the true power of a Bionic Commando.

The development team behind Bionic Commando represents a unique collaboration of cultures and skills, consisting of an American Producer living in Japan, a Japanese Creative Advisor and Swedish developer GRIN providing a European influence. This partnership provides a further example of Capcom’s strategy to work with the best developer talent while maintaining the unique elements of creativity and approach to game design for which Capcom is renowned.

As promising as Capcom’s upcoming Wii game Spyborgs is, it runs the risk of suffering the fate of the company’s last Wii original. But Capcom thinks it figured out what went wrong last time.

Spyborgs, the impressively-rendered co-op brawler created by Bionic Games for the Wii, gives a good first impression. It looks better than most Wii games and plays well.

The same things could have been said about 2007′s puzzle-based treasure-hunting game, Zack & Wiki. It looked great. It played well. It wasn’t a hit.

How to avoid that history repeating itself?

Just hours ago, as we wrapped up a two-person co-op run through the same levels Kotaku chief Crecente played in Monte Carlo, the game’s senior producer, Daryl Allison told me what lesson Capcom had learned:

The struggle for Zack & Wiki, Allison said, was that “the art style made the game come across as a kids’ game, but it played like more of an adult’s game.” The graphics were silly; the gameplay complex.

Spyborgs is going for a teen market (but I enjoyed it, ok?) and therefore pushing a more all-ages Pixar style.

If this is already more than you’re used to reading about graphics for a Wii game, that’s no accident. Graphics are important to this Wii game. Allison said the team’s philosophy is that: “If we can be compared with the God of Wars and Devil May Crys then we have to look that good. There’s no excuses.”

Spyborgs will be out for the Wii later this year. And, if all goes well, it will look not just like it plays, but as good as it’s supposed to play. That, perhaps, is doing a Wii game right.

Lost Planet 2, Capcom’s sequel to the smash hit game set on a frozen world of ice, will also hit PC as well as the previously-confirmed 360 when it releases in 2010. The game, which uses the MT Framework 2.0, looks gorgeous, and is set in lush jungles and barren deserts, as the game follows a group of Snow Pirates whose adventures take place long after much of the series’ planet, EDN3, has been terraformed into gorgeous landforms.

Street Fighter IV is coming to the PC. PCs use a mouse and keyboard. For Street Fighter IV, that’s, uh, not exactly ideal. So smartly, Capcom will be releasing a control pad bundle.

Of course, for those already planning on using their own controller (or who are happy using a keyboard), you can just pick up the game for $40. But for $60, as expected, Capcom will also be selling the game with a packed-in Mad Catz Street Fighter IV Fight Pad, which while useless for most other games, is tailored perfectly for Street Fighter IV.

Both versions of the PC edition will be out on July 7, though PAL customers note, the Mad Catz bundle won’t be available in stores in Europe or Australasia, so you’ll have to order it online.
